Vegetable-tanned – free from chrome and heavy metals
While conventional leather is often treated with chrome salts or heavy metals, Ecopell is tanned exclusively with plant-based tannins such as tara, valonea, or mimosa. This keeps the leather free from harmful substances, skin-friendly, and fully biodegradable.
Origin and processing
The hides come from Southern German cattle and are processed in Bavaria using a sophisticated tanning method. Ecopell has a long tradition and is renowned for its high ecological standards. The leather quality is regularly tested and certified by independent institutes.
Naturally breathable & skin-friendly
Ecopell leather has an open-pore structure. This means it can quickly absorb and release moisture, creating a particularly pleasant foot climate – heat and perspiration are effectively reduced.
